Why don't we take insurance? 

The short answer is we choose not to accept insurance because it allows us to provide comprehensive, personalized, and innovative healthcare beyond the constraints of insurance limitations, prioritizing your individual needs and optimal health outcomes.

Some people ask why we do not take insurance as payment. Fair Question. Here is the answer straight from the government: Medicare Guidelines, Section 2251.3: "a treatment plan that seeks to prevent disease, promote health, and prolong and enhance the quality of life; or therapy that is performed to maintain or prevent deterioration of a chronic condition is deemed NOT MEDICALLY NECESSARY. This means that third-party payers, (Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Aetna, United) have government permission to deny health insurance claims. Insurance may deny claims for preventive or non-traditional therapies. I don’t believe this is fair. I wish it were different.

When you begin to operate outside of insurance-limited health care, you can determine how the other "outside­ the-box" categories are affecting your health. Bridging the gaps between symptoms from various systems in the body, and doing our best to determine the trigger, cause, deficiency, building block, or barrier to healing.

The cutting-edge, outside-the-box approaches we take in addressing issues related to your condition are not covered by Medicare and Medicaid, and most insurance plans we have worked with in the past have also turned down claims for the advice, recommendations, treatments, and procedures we do in this clinic. Therefore, we cannot contract with them. We had to do this because the insurance company is not our patient. You are the patient.

Our approach is a team approach centered on the patient outcome. We bridge the gap between symptoms and various systems of the body that we believe are triggers of the disease. When we do this, many times we can take our health care and make it possible to go beyond the medical standard of care and deliver our best treatments for your condition.

The first visit is a comprehensive and team work up. We want to hear your story as you have navigated your challenges and obstacles in your health journey, what testing you have completed, what have been your medical options, and/or what has given you some temporary or partial relief or just plain doesn’t work. We then recommend advanced testing or imaging, specific medical nutritional therapy, in-office treatments, at-home plans, supplements, and financial parameters for your specific case. This includes frequency of visits, duration of time under our care, and financial options will also be discussed at that time.

We offer a few options through our office for payment of the recovery plans we recommend to patients, which will be discussed at your visit before any treatment is rendered. There are patient financing options. Your information will remain secure through this process and will not have any weight on how we determine we should address your health issues. It is strictly an option for our patients to make payments on their treatments here.

There are amazing people in the US healthcare system. Like any industry, there are some bad apples and I feel like we all recognize and understand that the health insurance system is broken. We feel that the very best way to provide services that work; to remain completely true to the patient; and to go above and beyond the “sickness care” system is to remain independent. Of course, we want to keep costs down and help you reach your desired outcome, and not participating in the broken system is the first step to getting your health back.
